Anti-IBABP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the IBABP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FABP6 gene, which encodes fatty acid binding protein 6. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and the regulation of cell proliferation, among other biological roles. The human version of IBABP has a canonical amino acid length of 128 residues and a protein mass of 14.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine. Other names for this target antigen include I-15P and I-BALB. Western Blot is the most common application for the IBABP antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
