Anti-snRNP-E antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target snRNP-E is a known alias name of the protein small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide E, encoded by the SNRPE gene in humans. This 92-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in pre-mRNA splicing as a core component of the spliceosomal U1, U2, U4 and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), the building blocks of the spliceosome. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for snRNP-E include HYPT11, SME, and Sm-E.
