Anti-ECSOD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ECSOD is a known alias name of the protein superoxide dismutase 3, encoded by the SOD3 gene in humans. This 240-amino acid residue protein is a member of the Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase protein family. It is localized to the Golgi and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in blood vessels, heart, lung, kidney and placenta. The term EC-SOD is another synonym for ECSOD. These ECSOD antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
