Anti-CDC48 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CDC48 is a known alias name of the protein valosin containing protein, encoded by the VCP gene in humans. This 806-amino acid residue protein is known to be important for the fragmentation of Golgi stacks during mitosis and for their reassembly after mitosis. It is localized to the nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Western Blot is the most common application for the CDC48 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
