Anti-BFABP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The BFABP antigen is another term for the human protein fatty acid binding protein 7, encoded by the FABP7 gene. The protein is known to function in the regulation of cell proliferation and nervous system development, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 132 residues and a mass of 14.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm and it is reported to be expressed in the brain and other neural tissues. The BFABP protein is a member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family. Other alias names for BFABP include BLBP. Western Blot is the most common application for the BFABP antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
