Anti-leda-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the leda-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PIANP gene, which encodes PILR alpha associated neural protein. This protein is known to act as a ligand for PILRA in neural tissues, where it may be involved in immune regulation. The human version of leda-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 282 residues and a protein mass of 30.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the endometrium, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum.
