Anti-sigma1R antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target sigma1R is a known alias name of the protein sigma non-opioid intracellular receptor 1, encoded by the SIGMAR1 gene in humans. This 223-amino acid residue protein is reported to function in lipid transport from the endoplasmic reticulum and is involved in a wide array of cellular functions probably through regulation of the biogenesis of lipid microdomains at the plasma membrane. It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, and cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed with higher expression in the liver, colon, prostate, placenta, small intestine, heart and pancreas. Other synonyms for sigma1R include ALS16, DSMA2, and OPRS1. Indicated applications for sigma1R antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
