Anti-MV antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MV is a known alias name of the protein vinculin, encoded by the VCL gene in humans. This 1134-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and cell matrix adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to have metavinculin is muscle-specific expression. Other synonyms for MV include CMD1W, CMH15, and HEL114. Western Blot is the most common application for the MV antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
