Clone Number:

A2MR-α2

Expression of the lipid scavenger receptor CD91 was compared on human neutrophils from blood vs BAL

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Flow Cytometry

Sample

Blood, BAL

Primary Incubation

2.5 uL of antibody added to 50 uL of blood or 2x10^5 cells in 50 uL

Blocking Agent

Fc receptor blocking prior to primary incubation

Secondary Incubation

N/a

Tertiary Incubation

N/a

Detection

B 515/20 filter on BD FACSYMPHONY

Results Summary

Venous blood and BAL leukocytes were stained for analysis by flow cytometry. Expression of CD91 was compared on neutrophils from both samples. Blood neutrophils have low but uniform expression of CD91, while airway neutrophils upregulate expression and have much more variable expression

Summary

The Good

Antibody provides good fluorescence which is maintained after fixation of the sample.

The Bad

Only a much larger quantity than I needed of the product was available for purchase, at least at that time

The Bottom Line

Good antibody for analyzing CD91 on human leukocytes.
