Insect Cell Lines

Cells and Microorganisms The Biocompare Cells and Microorganisms search tool is a diverse catalog of primary cells, cell lines, and microbial strains from many suppliers. Cell lines include stable immortalized lines, cells overexpressing target genes, hybridomas, reporter cell lines, and knockout cells. It features cells from various lineages, including myeloid and lymphoid cells, neuronal cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, myocytes, and more. Users can also search for specific cells based on tissue type or host species, providing flexibility for a wide array of research applications. Important considerations when choosing cells for research include cell line authentication, culturing requirements, genetic or phenotypic modifications, and the intended downstream application. Inspect the product datasheets from the cell supplier pages for more detailed information.

  • Beautiful Pericardin Antibody for Drosophila melanogaster

We study extracellular matrix in the Drosophila melanogaster heart. Pericardin is one such matrix protein in the fly heart which can change in expression with age. We needed an antibody to not only stain the pericardin protein in order to visualize, but also to quantify relative protein changes with age. We selected this product since it was the only available product out there, and it worked great once we optimized staining protocol.
  • A Collagen IV Antibody That Works For Drosophila

The aim of our research is visualizing and quantifying the extracelullar matrix proteins in the Drosophila heart. Specifically we note how that change with age. There as of yet had been no anti-collagen IV antibody that had been noted to work in Drosophila melanogaster in order to visualize their collagen IV homolog Viking. We were looking for one to use in immunofluorescence. Due to the promiscuous nature of this collagen IV antibody across many species we gave it a try in Drosophila and it worked fine.
