Microscopes and Cell Imaging System Search

Microscopes and Cell Imaging Systems The Biocompare Microscopes and Cell Imaging Systems search tool enables users to compare different instrument specifications, features, and applications to best serve the unique imaging needs of biological researchers. Contemporary microscopes are stand-alone optical devices that enable the necessary magnification needed to visualize processes at the tissue and cellular levels. Thanks to advances in optical technologies, researchers today can enjoy many choices in instruments. Microscopes and imaging systems can be categorized by their general build (such as upright, inverted, or digital systems) or primary function (stereo/zoom, electron, confocal, super-resolution, in vivo imaging, or slide scanning). Another important consideration is the imaging application, as many instrument models can offer multiple capabilities, such as phase contrast, polarization, luminescence, multi-channel fluorescence, darkfield, live cell imaging, 3D imaging, time-lapse, and more. When choosing an imaging instrument, also consider useful features such as automation compatibility, customization options, remote access, and control chambers. • UltraMicroscope II Light Sheet Microscope

Light sheet microscopy allows for fast imaging of large 3D biological samples, like whole rodent organs, embryos or larvae. Compared to other current fluorescence microscopy techniques only a single plane of a labeled sample is illuminated perpendicular to the direction of detection. The use of this decoupled optical pathways allows for fast, true volume, in-depth imaging with very low photo-damage and bleaching effects. Based on this technique, the UltraMicroscope II opens new avenues to study ...

  • Excellent Astrocyte Labeling with Low Background in Mouse Hippocampus

We used this antibody to immunofluorescently label astrocytes in the mouse dorsal hippocampus following astrocyte-specific MOR knockdown. The signal was bright, highly specific, and compatible with multi-channel confocal imaging together with mCherry, DAPI, SOX9, Iba1, nitrotyrosine, and SOD1 markers. The antibody provided excellent visualization of astrocyte morphology and fine processes with minimal background.
  • A Reliable Antibody for SOX9 Detection

We utilize a SOX9 antibody to measure SOX9 expression in mouse brain tissue (different brain regions of interest) to detect astrocyte reactivity together with other markers of astrocyte reactivity. SOX9 is highly expressed in mature astrocytes and can serve as a potential marker associated with astrocyte reactivity when its expression is elevated.
