
DNA labeling kits enable researchers to chemically or enzymatically attach labels to DNA oligonucleotides for use in hybridization, molecular assays, and other methods for DNA detection. Labels can include fluorophores, biotin, streptavidin, digoxigenin, or other affinity ligands. DNA end labeling kits attach modifications onto the 3' or 5' ends of DNA fragments using enzymes such as terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) and T4 polynucleotide kinase. Nick translation kits employ a combination of DNAse and DNA polymerase to create nicks in double-stranded DNA and subsequently attach labeled nucleotides. As DNA labeling kits generally contain all the necessary reagents and enzymes, labeling can be accomplished quickly and efficiently.
