384-Well PCR Plates 384-well PCR plates are plastic multi-well plates designed to handle the high temperatures of thermocyclers for PCR or real-time PCR applications. Compared to 96-well plates, 384-well can accommodate more samples and are well-suited for high-throughput workflows. While sterile and non-sterile options are offered, these plates should be free of DNases, RNases, or contaminating DNA. Fully skirted plate formats are more stable than unskirted or semi-skirted plates and are less prone to distortion. However, users should verify that their thermocycler can accommodate skirted plates. 384-well PCR plates can also vary in color and volume, and even include barcodes.
