T4 polynucleotide kinases are enzymes that catalyze the transfer of the gamma-phosphate from ATP to the 5'-OH group of single- and double-stranded DNA, RNA, oligonucleotides, and nucleoside 3'-monophosphates. It can be used for 5' phosphorylation of DNA/RNA for ligation, removal of phosphoryl groups, phosphorylation of PCR primers, and labeling of DNA/RNA for probes. It can also catalyze the removal of 3´-phosphoryl groups from 3´-phosphoryl polynucleotides, deoxynucleoside 3´-monophosphates, and diphosphates. It also plays a role in in-vivo RNA repair. Visit the enzyme supplier page for more product information, including units of activity.
