
Phage display services utilize a phage-based display library to identify and develop highly specific protein and antibody interactions. The method works by engineering a bacteriophage to express a peptide of interest—such as an antibody fragment—on its surface coat while internally retaining that peptide’s gene sequence. Thousands of candidate antibody fragments can then be screened to identify the peptide sequence with the greatest binding specificity. Phage display libraries are used in the affinity maturation of human antibodies, for the discovery and development of vaccines and antibody drugs.
