Description
Principle of the Assay: Human Prolactin receptor (PRLR) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PRLR in samples. An antibody specific for PRLR has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PRLR present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human PRLR detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PRLR bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background/Introduction: The Prolactin Receptor (PRLR) is a type 1 cytokine receptor that is expressed in a subset of breast cancers and may contribute to its pathogenesis. It is relatively overexpressed in approximately 25% of human breast tumors while expressed at low levels in some normal human tissues including the mammary gland
