Principle of the Assay: Human Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a member of the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. It encodes a heparin-binding protein, which exists as a disulfide -linked homodimer. This growth factor induces proliferation and migration of vascular endothelial cells, and is essential for both physiological and pathological angiogenesis.Human VEGF ELISA Kit employs a double antibody sandwich method to quantitate Human VEGF in samples. An antibody specific for Human VEGF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Human VEGF present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Human VEGF is added to the wells. After washing, proprietary Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound streptavidin-enzyme reagent, adding HRP Substrate (TMB), TMB turns blue under the catalysis of HRP, and turns yellow after adding stop solution. Measure the OD value with a microplate reader at 450 nm wavelength. The VEGF concentration is proportional to the OD450 nm value
