Product Characteristics: This ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit is intended for the quantitative determination of human neuron specific enolase (NSE) levels in patient serum samples. The test might be used as an aid for detecting patients with neuronendocrine differentiated tumors such as small cell lung cancer and neuroblastoma, melanoma, seminoma, and with injury of central nervous system such as traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Target Information: This gene encodes one of the three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. This isoenzyme, a homodimer, is found in mature neurons and cells of neuronal origin.
