Caco-2 [Caco2] is an adherent cell line isolated from colon tissue derived from a patient with colorectal adenocarcinoma. These cells express characteristics of enterocytic differentiation upon confluence and are a commonly used line for mimicking the small intestine in the gastrointestinal (GI) system.
