Alexandra Whale is a Science Leader for Nucleic Acid Innovation at the National Measurement Laboratory (NML at LGC), the UK's Designated Institute for chemical and biological measurement. She co-authored the Digital MIQE Guidelines Update and has extensive experience with digital PCR (dPCR) across multiple platforms. Her work focuses on evaluation and standardization of methods for accurate nucleic acid quantification. Her research encompasses a broad range of applications including cancer biomarker quantification and rare sequence detection, advanced therapeutic medicinal products that includes viral vector characterization and mRNA-LNP quantification, and gene expression characterization. She is also especially interested in pushing the envelope with what is possible with dPCR when considering applications such as linkage analysis and higher-order multiplexing.
