Luis Nieto-Barrado
Doctoral Student, Laboratory of Dr. Cristina Mayor-Ruiz, Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Barcelona
Luis Nieto-Barrado graduated from Biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain and
obtained his MSc in Biomedical Sciences from the KU Leuven, Belgium. During his MSc degree, he
worked with mass spectrometry techniques to unravel the redox metabolism of cancer cells during the
metabolic hallmarks of tumor development and metastasis formation. He is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Targeted Protein Degradation & Drug Discovery lab, led by Dr. Cristina Mayor-Ruiz at
IRB Barcelona, Spain. Luis focuses on unraveling the nuances of E3 regulation and innovates tools to
develop monovalent degraders (e.g., molecular glues).
