An inhibitor of MAO-B; selectively inhibits MAO-B by 80% in mouse brain homogenates (ID50 = 381 nmol/kg); prevents MPTP-induced reductions in dopamine levels in the striatum of 8- to 9-week-old mice at 29.5-8.47 µmol/kg; prevents MPTP-induced lesions in 9- to 10-month-old mice at 0.027 µmol/kg; increases the duration of contralateral rotational behavior induced by L-DOPA in a rat model of 6-OHDA-induced Parkinson’s disease
