A TDO inhibitor (IC50s = 1.46 and 0.28 µM for the mouse and human enzymes, respectively); selective for TDO over IDO (IC50 = >80 µM for the mouse enzyme); inhibits dexamethasone-induced migration of SK-MEL-28 cells at 40 µM; increases brain levels of tryptophan, 5-HT, and 5-HIAA in rats
