MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped HBV Molecular Control is designed for use with assay procedures that test for HBV genomic DNA. Truncated DNA sequences from these genes (Genbank accession number AB602818.1) are packaged into a specially modified recombinant viral vector and diluted in PBS. The product is ready-to-use for extraction and detection via amplified nucleic acid test.
MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped HBV Molecular Control utilizes a DNA nonenveloped AAV vector that has been developed as a viral vector for many years. The genes coding for the viral proteins associated with viral replication can be deleted and replaced with "target" sequences of interest. MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped HBV Molecular Control, is the nucleic acid sequence of the HBV gene wrapped in the outer membrane of the AAV. The resulting recombinant viral particles are efficiently packaged in HEK293 cells, but lack the genes required to produce new viral particles, and are therefore replication defective
