MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped Metapneumovirus F Molecular Control is designed for use with assay procedures that test for Metapneumovirus F genomic DNA and target the Metapneumovirus F protein. Truncated DNA sequences from these genes are packaged into a specially designed recombinant viral vector and diluted in PBS. The product is ready-to-use for extraction and detection via an amplified nucleic acid test.
MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped Metapneumovirus F Molecular Control utilizes a RNA enveloped retrovirus that has been developed as a viral vector for many years. The genes coding cis-acting elements for the viral associated LTR, ∮ and RRE, inserted with "target" sequences of interest are built. MagicQuant™ Pseudotyped Metapneumovirus F Molecular Control, is the nucleic acid sequence of the Metapneumovirus F gene wrapped in the outer membrane of the retrovirus. The resulting recombinant viral particles are efficiently packaged in HEK293 cells, but lack the genes required to produce new viral particles, and are therefore replication defective
