Immortalized Human Osteoprecursor Cells (OPC1)

Description

The Immortalized Human Osteoprecursor Cells (OPC1) is a conditionally immortalized fetal osetoprecusor cell line uniquely expressing SV40 Tag in the presence of human interferon A/D which affects the proliferation capability. However, the Tag may be expressed constitutively in the presence of serum. It expresses alkaline phosphatase (ALP), osetocalcin (OC), osteonectin (ON), osteopontin (OP), procollagen-I (ProI), and PTH receptor (PTHR). The cells are able to differentiate in the presence of recombinant human BMP-2 (rhBMP2), a regulatory factor involved in differentiation. This cell line is valuable tool as a model system in studies in bone-graft substitutes
