Description
Hantaan virus of one species of Hantaviruses causes Korean hemorrhagic fever and Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Hantaviruses live in rodents such as rats and mice without causing any symptoms. Urine, faeces or saliva from rodents can transmit the viruses to humans. The five different kinds of hantaviruses discovered so far are found in different geographical regions and in different kinds of rodents. Recombinant nucleocapsid of Hantaan virus is used to detect the specific antibody produced in Hantaan virus infection. It has 100% percent accuracy to detect the specific antibody to Hantaan infection. N-terminal portion of nucleocapsid protein was expressed and purified from E Coli with a 6 x histidine tag at its C-terminal, it forms virus like protein showing a dimer on SDS-PAGE
