Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in the regulation of transcription. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 769 residues, a mass of 84.6 kDa, and is a member of the LRIF1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus and chromosomes and is found to be widely expressed, with the highest expression levels in heart, liver and placenta. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The LRIF1 gene has been associated with the disease, Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy.
