Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) by acting as a bridge between the mRNA decapping complex and the NMD machinery. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 139 residues, a mass of 15.6 kDa, and is a member of the PNRC protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm and is found to be expressed in heart, lung, muscle and brain. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported.
