Anti-Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PRMT5 in humans. The gene may also be known as JBP1, HRMT1L5, HSL7, IBP72, protein arginine N-methyltransferase 5, and 72 kDa ICln-binding protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 72.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
