Anti-SKI1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SKI1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MBTPS1 gene, which encodes membrane bound transcription factor peptidase, site 1. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of SKI1 has a canonical amino acid length of 1052 residues and a protein mass of 117.7 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER and Golgi of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. SKI1 is a member of the Peptidase S8 protein family.
