Anti-PETA-3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PETA-3 is a known alias name of the protein CD151 molecule (Raph blood group), encoded by the CD151 gene in humans. This 253-amino acid residue protein is known to be important for the proper assembly of the glomerular and tubular basement membranes in kidney. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features palmitoylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in a variety of tissues including vascular endothelium and epidermis. Other synonyms for PETA-3 include EBS7, GP27, and MER2. Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for PETA-3 antibodies.
