Anti-ICHYN antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ICHYN antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NIPAL4 gene, which encodes NIPA like domain containing 4. This protein is known to function in the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of ICHYN has a canonical amino acid length of 404 residues and a protein mass of 44 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebral cortex, stomach, and breast. ICHYN is a member of the NIPA protein family.
