Anti-PLOD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PLOD is a known alias name of the protein procollagen-lysine,2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 1, encoded by the PLOD1 gene in humans. This 727-amino acid residue protein is reported to be part of a complex composed of PLOD1, P3H3 and P3H4 that catalyzes hydroxylation of lysine residues in collagen alpha chains and is required for normal assembly and cross-linkling of collagen fibrils (By similarity). It is localized to the ER and membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for PLOD include EDS6, EDSKCL1, and LH. Indicated applications for PLOD antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
