Anti-Sca1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Sca1 is a known alias name of the protein ataxin 1, encoded by the ATXN1 gene in humans. This 815-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a chromatin-binding factor that repress Notch signaling in the absence of Notch intracellular domain by acting as a CBF1 corepressor. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, sumoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed throughout the body. Other synonyms for Sca1 include ATX1 and D6S504E. These Sca1 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
