Anti-PUR1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PUR1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MAZ gene, which encodes MYC associated zinc finger protein. This protein is known to function in the regulation of apoptosis and the regulation of transcription, among other biological roles. The human version of PUR1 has a canonical amino acid length of 477 residues and a protein mass of 48.6 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types.
