Anti-TMEM132E antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 132E. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1074 amino acid residues and a mass of 116.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is notably expressed in the kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. A member of the TMEM132 protein family, TMEM132E is reported to be required for normal inner ear hair cell function and hearing. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The TMEM132E gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. TMEM132E gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the TMEM132E antibodies listed below. ELISA and Flow Cytometry are also common applications.
