Anti-SAX2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SAX2 is a known alias name of the protein NK1 homeobox 1, encoded by the NKX1-1 gene in humans. This 448-amino acid residue protein is believed to be required for the coordinated crosstalk of factors involved in the maintenance of energy homeostasis, possibly by regulating the transcription of specific factors involved in energy balance. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in hemopoietic progenitor cells.
