Mitomycin C is an antineoplastic compound isolated from Streptomyces species. It inhibits DNA synthesis by forming cross-links between the bases adenine and guanine. It is most effective during the G1 and S phases of the cell cycle. In high concentrations, Mitomycin C can inhibit RNA synthesis. Most commonly used in experiments to inhibit cell proliferation, Mitomycin C is a potent antitumor and chemotherapeutic agent as well as an inhibitor of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It can be used as a mutagen and for inactivating mouse embryonic fibroblasts. Choose the quantity that best suits your needs from the products below.
