I used the dual luciferase assay to measure transcriptional activation using a Gal4 synthetic transcription assay. I co-transfected the GAL4 upstream activation sequence-driven firefly luciferase expression construct and the synthetic transcription factor constructs and measured firefly luciferase activity. The assay is straightforward to set up and all reagents required for the assay are supplied in the kit.
