I used the Zombie Aqua Fixable Viability Kit in both human and mouse cells. The product works great and it is available in different fluorochromes (to be adapted to every FACS panel). The staining takes at least 30 minutes but allows a good separation of dead and alive cells also after fixation.

It is very important to perform the staining in cells suspended in PBS. The staining takes 30-40 minutes in the dark at RT.
Good separation of dead cells from alive cells in different cells types (both human and mouse). The signal is bright and the staining can be performed before the extracellular staining.

Easy to use.
Expensive.
Although a bit expensive,it is easy to use, fast and it allows a good recognition of dead cells at FACS. Recommended!
