Multiple bands at various molecular weights were present after incubation with the SERT antibody (340 003) from Synaptic Systems. Image: Nitrocellulose membrane (0.45 um). To determine the appropriate sample load, 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 µg of protein samples were loaded into the gel. The ideal load is 10-20 µg for target protein detection.
Diluted antibody solution can be stored at +4°C for at least two weeks with comparably good results. Stock solution can be stored for several years without noticeable quality loss. Dilution of 1:1000 works well in our hands but must possibly be optimiZed depending on expression level. Other applications than Western Blot are described by the supplier but were not tested.
Works with a low dilution 1:5000.
Multiple non-specific bands
I can't recommend this antibody due to the non-specific signal. We used different blocking agents, and the result was consistent.
