Catalog Number:

1204161-C2

We use the Cnr1-3zz probe to assess Cnr1, the gene encoding the cannabinoid type 1 receptor, mRNA expression in mouse brain tissue. Accession No: NM_007726.5; Target Region: 1001 – 1124 base pairs.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

RNA-ISH

Starting Material

Fixed frozen tissue from mouse brain

Tips

Probe dilution should be 1:50. C1 probe was used as a diluent.

Results Summary

This probe allowed us to spatially assess Cnr1 mRNA expression in numerous mouse brain regions. For the cell-type specific analysis, we utilized BaseScope Duplex Assay with C1 probe targeting Aldh1 mRNA (astrocyte-specific marker). Image: Cnr1 mRNA expression (red dots); Aldh1l1 mRNA expression loci (green-turquoise dots). To disclose tissue morphology, we stained brain tissue with 50% Gill’s hematoxylin 1. Image was acquired using a Leica DM 6B upright microscope.

Summary

The Good

Highly specific and sensitive detection of Cnr1 mRNA.

The Bad

High cost for a small amount .

The Bottom Line

Cnr1 BaseScope probe provides reliable Cnr1 mRNA detection which is ideal for archiving due to the permanent staining visible under any standard bright field microscope.
