I used this Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Staining / Detection Kit in several of my projects to detect cell apoptosis or necrosis. The kit worked well and is reliable.

This kit includes Propidium Iodide (PI) so you can do apoptosis and necrosis staining together.
After staining of my cells with this kit, I can tell apoptosis and necrosis by flow cytometry. Apoptotic cells are positive for Annexin V and necrotic cells are positive for PI staining.
