Our lab wants a clean CD8+ or CD4+ population that we can use for in-vitro assays. Therefore, we use this magnet for our isolations. It is sturdy and efficient.
Isolation of specific T cells
After incubation per manufacturer protocol for the isolation kits, we would elude the samples with a column that attaches to the magnet of the separator. The samples negatively selected for will go through the column. The positive selection can be obtained with a plunge of the column.
The tube rack that comes with the magnet does fall apart easily.
Depending on your isolation kit, the specific population that you want can easily be separated with this magnet.
