Invitrogen Antibodies

Product Name:

CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (53-6.7), APC-eFluor 780, eBioscience™

Catalog Number:

47-0081-82

We routinely use this antibody and this clone in varying fluorophores, for general CD8 T cell staining during autoimmune disease. We have used this product in a variety of experiments from surface staining to cell stimulations and cell sorting. In all cases this product presents as a clear separate populations. However, there are some fluorophores that may give brighter staining than this particular color.

Results Summary

We have seen clear and distinct populations using this particular clone and fluorophore combination. The staining is not as bright as other colors on this clone have been shown to be. However, this conjugate remained stable even when running fixed samples 4 days after staining. The compensation between this color and APC and be challenging.

Summary

The Good

Consistent and clear staining results in a variety of applications

The Bad

Doesn't titrate as well as other color fluorophore even in the same clone.

The Bottom Line

This is a good antibody if you need to stain for CD8a in this color. There may certainly be better options but this one works consistently well for general use.
