PPOX ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein protoporphyrinogen oxidase, which is encoded by the PPOX gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the 6-electron oxidation of protoporphyrinogen-IX to form protoporphyrin-IX. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 477 residues, a mass of 50.8 kDa, and is a member of the Protoporphyrinogen/coproporphyrinogen oxidase protein family. It is known to be localized in the mitochondria and is found to be expressed in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. The PPOX gene has been associated with the disease, Variegate porphyria. Other alias names for this target include V290M, VP, and PPO.
The detection range for different PPOX ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 31.25 pg/mL and as high as 10 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
