The SH3BP5 protein is 455 amino acid residues in length and 50.4 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles, mitochondria, and membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in testis and ovaries. Other names for this target antigen include SAB, SH3 domain-binding protein that preferentially associates with BTK, and SH3-domain binding protein 5 (BTK-associated).
