MPI ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein mannose phosphate isomerase, which is encoded by the MPI gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be involved in synthesis of the GDP-mannose and dolichol-phosphate-mannose required for a number of critical mannosyl transfer reactions. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 423 residues, a mass of 46.7 kDa, and is a member of the Mannose-6-phosphate isomerase type 1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in all tissues, but more abundant in heart, brain and skeletal muscle. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The MPI gene has been associated with the disease, Congenital disorder of glycosylation. Other alias names for this target include PMI, PMI1, mannose-6-phosphate isomerase, phosphohexomutase, phosphomannose isomerase 1, and CDG1B.
The detection range for different MPI ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 15.6 pg/mL and as high as 10 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
