Functionally, this protein is known to bind to AT-rich stretches in the modulator region upstream of the human cytomegalovirus major intermediate early gene enhancer. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 594 residues and a mass of 64.1 kDa. It is known to be localized in the nucleus. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and phosphorylated.
